  • Consolidations and Reporting
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the business including financial statements and other reporting entities.
  • Develop strong working knowledge of Accounting and Reporting Standards and IFRS.
  • Assist consolidation tasks associated with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for reporting entities.
  • Participate in the preparation of group financial reporting requirements including the General Management Report, Taxes and the Treasury Information Package.
  • Participate in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial compliance materials for lender and other relevant 3rd party requirements (TSE/OSC, Statistics Canada, EPA, etc.)
  • Perform the financial statement reconciliation.
  • Participate in the production of year end audit sub-schedules and supporting documentation
  • Adherence to Internal Control Systems (ICS) is essential
  • Working with the General Accounting Team and the Manufacturing and Fixed Assets Accounting Team, prepare financial statements for Joint Venture business unit using Non-ERP software package
  • Assist Master Data Hierarchies, Common Chart of Accounts, Consolidation and Reporting Structures maintenance
  • Reconcile key consolidation accounts (Currency Translation Adjustments, Business Equity accounts)
  • Research and correct data integrity issues effecting the monthly consolidation process
  • Coordinator with technical resources and Team Lead to improve transactional system design in the area of data integrity and process automation
  • Prepare schedules for external audit and perform quarterly analytical review of the financial statements.


  • Continuously improve operations
  • Identify and suggest process and system enhancements
  • Assist the Consolidations and Reporting Specialist, Supervisor and manager in continuously monitoring Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements
  • Perform at a level that assists in attaining overall and team-level performance measures and goals
  • Interface with other Shared Service teams to ensure compliance with cross-team accountabilities
  • Coordinate with other Shared Service teams to deliver seamless service to customers
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety policies and initiatives outlined in the Health and Safety manual


  • Minimum 1 to 2 years relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Ability to analyze and trace the source of consolidation issues
  • Public accounting experience an asset
  • Manufacturing industry and shared services experience a plus
  • Advanced knowledge and use of office productivity tools (MS Office, Excel)
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP Accounting system is required


Educational Criteria


  • 4 year undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field required
  • CPA certification preferred or equivalent work experience preferred
