The objective of this position is to manage sales on a daily basis, assisting in marketing efforts, address pricing and invoicing concerns. Develop, present and secure the use of Lafarge brand name products and services to general contractors, the agriculture industry, architects and engineers.

The Sales Manager reports to the GM, Calgary Ready Mix. The Sales Manager supervises four Sales Representatives and  two after sales support staff.


  • Lead the business with the utmost focus on health & safety and ensure all aspects of the role are executed in a safe manner
  • Analyze, on an ongoing basis, competition and competitive environments to determine market strategy, pricing, market penetration, product services, product quality and customers.
  • Implement pricing policies and bidding strategies as per direction of the GM.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers and provide a direct or supportive sales role as appropriate.
  • Assist in problem solving situations with other direct reports to the GM.
  • Assist in development of best practices of emerging products and services.
  • Accurate and timely reporting to the GM, as required.
  • Assist Credit Manager in collecting receivables, as required.
  • Organization of sales & marketing functions and customer entertainment.



  • A University Degree or Technical Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • A minimum of five years of sales experience.  Field experience in concrete operations is preferred.
  • Supervisory/management experience of a sales team.
  • Excellent sales, communications and organizational skills are required.
