NABS B2R Fixed Assets Accounting Analyst / Specialist


Position Responsibilities (key duties, scope of position, goals, expectations and skill requirements)


  • Advance the corporate objectives for both LafargeHolcim US and Canada
  • Support the Record to Report department customers across streams to ensure successful completion of end to end processes by being a key communication point
  • Work in concert with NASC to ensure business processes are appropriate reflected in the Consolidated financial statements and other reporting venues.
  • Ensure compliance to corporate standards such as ICS and LafargeHolcim Accounting and Reporting Principles
  • Support year end processes such as the external audit, preparation of the notes to the financial statements, and income tax deliverables
  • Work to continuously improve the business processes in quality, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Work on related projects as required


Fixed Asset Accounting

  • Manage the process for the creation of new assets and/or capitalize assets from capital projects, the maintenance on capital asset records within the fixed asset system and the preparation of monthly reports for corporate accounting
  • Monitor the Fixed Assets Continuity schedule for accounting and for tax to ensure compliance with accounting standards
  • Work closely with the Corporate Tax Department to maintain system rules to support local and statutory depreciation calculations
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset subledger for tax purposes for the US operations
  • Support business unit inquiries on an ad hoc basis (e.g. value of an asset to be sold, etc.)
  • Work closely with Corporate Planning departments to produce sub-schedules and reports necessary to support annual and 5 year plan
  • Quarterly review and conduct internal audit for Assets Disposals and Asset Useful life
  • Manage and Optimize the property tax process for LafargeHolcim US including the interface with the US tax department, and NABS Procure to Pay team.
  • Monthly review and approval of ICS controls
  • Develop a detailed understanding


Manufacturing Accounting

  • Support the financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes. Execute key components of planning process according to defined timelines
  • Develop your staff to support the budget, standard costing and month end close process for manufacturing accounting.
  • Co-ordinate and support year-end audit requirements within area of responsibility
  • Review and approve complex, high value accounting entries
  • Recognize and communicate potential issues/risks to other Team Leads and the Book to Report Manager.



Continuous Process Improvements

  • Identify and suggest process and system enhancements
  • Perform at a level that assists in attaining overall and team-level performance measures and goals
  • Interface with all other Shared Service teams to investigate and resolve issues
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety policies and initiatives outlined in the Health and Safety manual


Educational Criteria


  • 4-year undergraduate degree in accounting or related field required
  • CPA certification prefered
  • Working knowledge of IFRS standards is desirable

Other Related Experiences Required or Preferred


  • Shared Service experience beneficial
  • Working knowledge and use of office productivity tools (MS Office, Lotus Notes, etc.)
  • Advanced Excel Skills are essential
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP Accounting system is required
