Overview

Objective:

The Sales Administrator is responsible for pro-active sales administration functions to specific customer segments, administration of key sales systems and processes and providing sales support to the Commercial Manager (CM), Territory Managers (TMs), Customer Service Representatives (CSR) and Scale Personnel in the Market Area. This includes project/bid quoting, customer relations, quality control management, logistics management, and COD account reconciliation.

Responsibilities

The duties of the Sales Administration role include, but are not limited to the following: 

Profile

  • Promote Lafarge operational image, products and services
  • Meet sales objectives in assigned area
  • Identify customer needs (service, quality, new products, finance availability)
  • Communicate company actions to maintain customer relations
  • Resolve customer complaints
  • Comply with all laws and company policies
  • Establish a good rapport with customers, consumer support and technical sales assistance, as necessary
  • Act as a liaison between Sales, Order Desk, and Customers
  • Ensure proper billing by checking prices daily (Edit Report)
  • Reconcile Daily COD Transactions from Scale Personnel
  • Build quotes with instruction from Sales Rep/Commercial Manager
  • Build delivery and FOB Quotes based on Organizational Discount structure
  • Aid Scale Personnel with FOB quote item additions
  • Add Order Desk staff by relaying on the spot customer pricing information
  • Complete Credit/Rebill forms for pricing errors
  • Aid with customer ticket requests
  • Support to Order Desk with order taking and truck monitoring in Haul-It/Track-It (if time allows)

Qualifications

Experience 

  • Minimum two years post-secondary education in business, communications or marketing or a high school with a minimum of 1 year of experience in the construction materials industry
  • Good knowledge of transportation and weights and measures restrictions
  • Basic knowledge of safety, both on-the-job transportation and industrial locations
  • Basic understanding of Aggregate products
  • Knowledge of law to include antitrust and contract law
  • Be prepared to continue with the necessary educational requirements
