The NABS Buyer II shall contribute to the success of the Procurement Hub by ensuring timely and accurate review and conversion of Requisitions into Purchase Orders for release, monitoring fax transmissions and issue resolution, while maintaining adherence to Procurement policy and compliance to support our construction lines of business


Key Responsibilities:


  • Work with Operations and Procurement to issue purchase orders for the construction product line
  • Ensure Purchasing practices are in compliance with NABS procedures and Procurement policies, promoting best practices developed with NABS and Operational Procurement
  • Review and assess requisitions for accuracy and completeness in accordance with defined Procurement policies and tax regulations
  • Assign supplier to Purchase Orders in accordance to Procurement policies, process and directives
  • Ensure all POs prior to release comply with Health and Safety policies and initiatives (Avetta contractor safety compliance)
  • Resolve Procurement-related parked invoices in cooperation with NABS AP
  • Interface with Operational Procurement to implement Corporate and strategic contracts in SAP
  • Continuously work with other NABS groups to identify opportunities to improve the P2P process
  • Identify opportunities to develop eCatalogues to increase the efficiency of the PO process
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas
  • Co-ordinate with NABS and Operational Procurement:
    • Vendor creations, modifications, deletions
    • P.O. modifications
  • Co-ordinate with the business regarding resolution on P2P issues as they occur; perform root cause analysis to ensure that best practices are captured and shared amongst team
  • Coach employees who create requisitions on P2P process to enhance their SAP understanding


  • Create the proper Purchase Order type according to proper purchasing channel, accurately and timely
  • Follow up on PO release/approvals, order acknowledgements and communicate with the business as needed
  • Shared accountability with the Operational Procurement Manager for the success of the Business
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate internal controls and best practices
  • Ensure preferred suppliers used on Requisitions
  • Provide feedback on Procurement strategies and supplier performance
  • Participate in activities that support organizational objectives, while adhering to applicable laws, regulations, policies, & procedures.
  • Act independently and make decisions within the context of standard P2P processes within the P Hub organization
  • Enhance the safety culture of LafargeHolcim by adhering to safety policies, taking ownership for ensuring a safe workplace, appropriately escalating safety issues to management and participating in safety initiatives when required
  • Maintain the Integrity of spend classification
  • Develop relationships with the business and become known as the “go to” group to resolve P2P issues.
  • Support the training of P2P users as needed


Relationships with Other Positions:

  • Works with other NABS teams including Master Data Management, plus internal Procurement specialists and Corporate and Stronghold Procurement
  • Works with NASC IT Resource teams
  • Supports Operations and functional department activities
  • Maintains close contact with Vendor/Suppliers and Industry Organizations



  • Supply Chain Management Professional designation (SCMP or ISM) an assert
  • Post secondary education in Finance/Business Administration or related discipline, equivalent work experience
  • Bilingual (French and English) a definite asset
  • Proficiency with SAP, Ariba


Work Experience:

  • 1 - 2 years of years industry or functional procurement experience in a diverse organization, preferably within a transactional operations environment
  • Shared services experience preferred


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, with attention to detail and proficiency with numbers
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a well-developed customer focus
  • High degree of computer literacy and presentation skills
  • Ability to independently and accurately complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Motivated to work in a team environment
  • Understanding of the Procurement process, including a knowledge of Accounts Payable
