The primary objective of the Manufacturing Analyst is to assist in the completion of the operational accounting functions for Exshaw, including SAP PO creation for updated annual contracts for raw materials, freight carriers, and other key contracts.  Also, ensures accurate and timely raw material receiving and validation with the Production Analyst inventories, coordination and preparation of monthly plant cost and statistical reports, while ensuring that Regional and Corporate deadlines are met.  Preparation of monthly plant cost and statistical statements using all reports available in SAP and understands how the different data sets flow to each other.  


The incumbent is responsible for reconciling all General Ledger and inventory accounts, and in doing so, must understand how transactions flow through the accounts and the referencing system for all entries. The reconciliation process serves to ensure that all plant and capital costs are fairly stated and properly allocated.



  • Coordinate with Production and Process departments during month-end close.
  • Reconciliation raw material and finished goods inventories in coordination with Production Analyst (SAP book versus monthly physical counts).
  • Trained as full back-up to Payroll Administrator for both salaried and hourly payroll processing for Exshaw & Prairies terminals. Assists on a regular basis to ensure complete understanding of payroll process.
  • Ensures the posting board information is current and updates as directed by Payroll administrator.
  • Assist plant personnel with SAP PO set-up and receiving to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Assist weekly in Stores area with:
    • a) MRP (Quote to order Process-Reorder for inventory materials);
    • b) Inventory Control (assist with cycle counts, auditing inventory, proper storage, and cycle counting out obsolete inventory); and
    • c) Other stores inventory analytics as needed.



  • Track and enter raw material receipts.
  • A main point of contact for vendor inquiries on PO payment status.
  • Relief for Plant Reception (plant lunches, organize meetings, etc).
  • Maintains ECTV, updates slides as required.
  • Maintain plant phone system including phone hardware, voicemail system, and adding or removing employees from extension directory;
  • Input plant personnel training into Intellex system.
  • Performs annual internal control testing for accounts payable and inventory activities.
  • Compiles and reports volunteer activities quarterly.
  • Ensure Check-In kiosk is functional daily and export contractor hours weekly and distribute to plant LCC’s for review. Input this data to the safety stats file monthly.
  • Review and resolve SAP Parked Supplier Invoices report to ensure vendors are paid within terms.

Safety Leadership:


  • Actively participate in the Energy Isolation Committee, attend monthly Safety Buddy meetings, and participate in plant safety walks during shutdowns.

  • Intermediate Accounting Education
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting position.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Excellent analytical / problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, self starter with initiative.
  • Excellent written and oral skills.
  • Strong inter-personal skills.
