    Reporting to the primary to Sales Manager of GVA Ready Mix, the incumbent follows the GVA team’s commitment to safety excellence, drive to be the employer of choice, focus on industry leading service and solutions.  The Sales Assistant is responsible for organizing upcoming bids and analyzing ongoing projects and communicating with Customers, Sales, Finance, Operation and Equs.


    The Sales Assistant connects the daily sales, finance and operation functions between Lafarge RMX and Equs. They help to promote Lafarge Ready Mix concrete products, Equs Floor solutions and services through daily emails and phone calls with small customers. The Sales Assistant must also work closely with Safety, Customer Care and Logistics Centre, Production, Quality Control, Credit and other product lines to drive the implementation of the Company’s One Lafarge Strategy.


    • Promotes a positive safety culture through leadership by example; performs all work activities following all relevant safety policies and procedures.
    • Drives revenue through increased sales and solution selling to optimize opportunities to small customers in SFD and wood frame apartments segment.
    • Promotes solution-based selling to develop new customer relationships and be proactive in understanding customer needs.
    • Maintains a strong grasp of all competitors’ products, actions, prices and strategy.
    • Coordinates RMX sales and Equs services with other Lafarge divisions
    • Review and understand project specification
    • Efficiently and accurately produce Equs quotation by use of computer software such as Frontline.
    • Inspect daily sales report timely and work with billing coordinator to ensure accuracy.
    • Attends and proactively participates in monthly finance and sales meetings.
    • Attends and proactively reports in weekly meeting with sales manager
    • Attends meetings and travels with sales reps, sales manager or Equs general manager
    • Presents RMX and Sales progress report to managers as required
    • Develops monthly backlog, pending report, customer pipeline, sales and revenue forecasts
    • Develops and implement process to meet monthly AR targets and track holdbacks.
    • Develops and implement process to track cost and revenue
    • Develops Qlikview reports for each plant manager applicable to their workforce
    • Complete incident tracker for cost related incidents
    • Complete incident management process to ensure accountability, incident follow-up and closure
    • Works with CCAs to ensure appropriate product use and promote extra products and services.
    • Works with CCLC and operations in planning for new projects by identifying speciality requirement.
    • Participates in local associations and partnerships to maintain and increase Lafarge presence in local areas and to promote values
    • Attends and supports customer events to present Lafarge interest.

    • Identifies and shares recommendations for improvements.
    • Meets and seeks to exceed department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Timely and accurate reports to support delivery, billing and sales activities.
    • Timely and accurate customer account management following LafargeHolcim policy

    Dimensions / Relationships with Others’ Jobs:

    • Interfaces closely with other sales team members, operations, productions, quality control, customer care & logistics, credit and finance departments.
    • Works closely with functional teams, i.e. H&S, Environment & PR, HR, LR, IT.
    • Directly reports to Sales Manager, GVA Ready-Mix
    • Annual Sales Volume: $ 10Mil
    • Annual Volumes: 25K M3


    Education and Work Experience:

    • Bachelors Degree, Diploma, or an acceptable combination of education and work experience
    • Prior sales experience within industry considered a strong asset
    • Prior customer service experience considered a good asset
    • Demonstrated strong application user skills for MS Office Suite of products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint at intermediate level
    • Experience using an ERP / E-One system preferred
