    The Lafarge Order Taker is an excellent team player and utilizes their strong organization and communication skills to coordinate team members, customers, truck drivers, front-ends and the sales team.  The Order Taker works well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.  The ideal candidate is prompt, reliable, and able multi-task effectively.  The key deliverables for the Order Taker are: ensure customer commitments are realized, build and optimize the delivery schedule and communicate with stakeholders. 


    Key Responsibilities


    • Build delivery schedule
    • Customer negotiation
    • Monitor order progress and record performance
    • Minimize scheduling conflicts




    • Oder accuracy
    • Delivery fulfillment
    • Truck utilization
    • Fleet size and composition targets
    • Transparent order commitments with customers
    • Engage with Sales Team for service decision and customer priorities


    Qualification Profile:

    • A minimum of 2+ years post secondary education with relevant work experience or a minimum of 2+ years of experience in logistics. 
    • Computer knowledge
    • Product and industry knowledge an asset
    • Multi-tasking and able to work in a fast paced environment with the ability to determine and focus on priorities
    • Excellent communication skills, English proficiency; fluent in other languages an asset



    • Work closely with 3 team mates
    • Manage delivery of 175,000m3 per year
    • Coordinate delivery from 3 shipping locations
    • Manages approximately 350 calls/day
