This position works closely with other weigh masters, inside sales reps, billing coordinator, fleet coordinator, customer service and logistics manager, 3rd party truck drivers, shipping loader operators, shipping foreman and COD construction contractors.



The Weigh Master’s primary objective is the successful and safe shipment of materials to the customer. Their second objective is providing the customer with a professional level of service by upholding Lafarge Brand appearance and courteous communication.



  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. Respects and practices the Lafarge Health & Safety Rules. Responsible for reporting any observed safety violations and/or hazards to supervisors and management.
  • Engage in daily safety communication activities (ie: Huddles, Spot Truck Safety Audits, Daily Safety Messages, etc…) with management, employees and visitors.



  • Practices good housekeeping principles in the scalehouse.
  • Ensure that the scale house and surrounding area is kept safe, presentable and functional.

Customer Service:

  • Provide assistance via phone or face-to-face contact with visitors. Direct visitors to appropriate personnel for further assistance.

Scale Operations:

  • Operate SAP / APEX system according to standard operating procedures to check/tare in trucks and produce weigh-bills/tickets for the shipment of goods in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure that weight restrictions are abided by (ie: no overloads)
  • Collect documentation as per Front-End guideline for transport vehicles and transfers to the Transportation Coordinator.
  • Proactively communicate customer, transport and system issues with dispatch, sales and back-office to ensure timely resolution.
  • Collect monies for cash sales and reconciles against register as prescribed by control procedures.


  • Follow the dispatch daily checklist to identify, record, and communicate changes to Dispatch aiming to minimize delivery disruptions to the customer.


  • Q2C: Administer resale ticket entry into enterprise system in a timely and accurate fashion according to standard operating procedures to meet or exceed established KPIs for customer on-time and accurate invoicing.
  • P2P: Administer receipts of resale weigh-bills in enterprise system in a timely and accurate fashion according to standard operating procedures to meet or exceed established KPIs for supplier on-time payment.
  • File documents and weigh-bills/tickets for future quick reference.


  • Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports as prescribed by Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.



Relationships with Others Jobs: 



  • Reports to the Customer Service & Logistics Manager
  • Works closely with the Dispatchers, Weigh Master, Loader Operator and After Sales Support Coordinator, and Plant Manager.

Education & Work Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Knowledge of construction industry is an asset, but not essential.
  • Familiarity with order taking, dispatching and aggregate products.
