    Overview

    The prime objective of this position is to assist the Quality Assurance Manager in providing a low cost, high quality Ready-mix product to the industry that meets the customer’s requirements and satisfies all building code requirements for the Greater Calgary & Rural Ready Mix operations.

     

    STRUCTURE

     

    The Quality Assurance Technologist reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager of the Ready Mix Division.

     

    Reporting to the incumbent is the Head Laboratory Technician.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist the Ready Mix team in maintaining a safe work place
    • Maintain our CSA/CCIL certification in good standing for the concrete laboratory
    • Overseeing the testing of raw materials, leading up to the finish product
    • Work with the sales team in communicating with the engineering community – submitting concrete mix designs
    • Assist the sales team in providing alternative products to meet our customers needs
    • Work with the operations team in developing new products and assisting the team in managing any inefficiencies
    • Creating and uploading mix design into SAP and the individual batch plants
    • Assist in maintaining the Quadrel database

    Qualifications

    The minimum qualifications for the noted position require a technical Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology specializing in the field of concrete technology with a minimum of five years of direct experience. 

    Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
