    Lafarge Leadership Development Program (LLDP)


    The Lafarge Leadership Development Program offers qualified individuals an opportunity to work through developmental roles over a term of 18-24 months. The positions are designed to maximize your personal and professional learning and development. Each LLDP path is different, and custom designed for you!


    Currently, we are looking for recent graduates who seek the challenge of a hands-on work environment that will provide industry knowledge and skills to drive your career path forward. We are looking for individuals who are interested in the areas of development, leadership and management of operational functions and performance throughout Eastern Canada.


    To be considered for an LLDP role, qualified candidates must have a College/University degree, be willing to relocate within eastern Canada, be analytical, entrepreneurial and have highly developed communication skills. All of this must be coupled with a strong drive to gain business knowledge and a willingness to experience a variety of positions within the organization. 





    Effective management of Product Quality Control and Quality Processes to ensure product performance, product cost management, effective reserve utilization and customer satisfaction


    Key Responsibilities:



    • Implementation of Lafarge Safety Policies, and Compliance with Government Legislation
    • Safety Induction of Visitors to Quality Lab or site as required
    • Execution of Job Hazard Analyses for QC Tasks, and implementation of Action Items
    • Execution and implementation of Lab/QC Safety Improvement Plans


    Aggregate and Concrete Product Performance:

    • Implement programs and processes to ensure compliance of all products with relevant Codes, Standards, and Specifications
    • Implement Lafarge Quality Program, including sampling, testing, reporting and follow up for all products as determined for each site of responsibility
    • Record , Monitor and communicate KPI performance with key stakeholders as required – investigate variances from Plan and establish corrective actions as required
    • Participate in or lead the development and implementation of site specific actions to reduce and/or utilize long products, including innovating new combination materials
    • Provide input to ensure alignment between Sales and Operational staff to ensure product performance meets customer expectations
    • Test and monitor concrete and aggregate quality for the area and provide monthly reports to quality control team
    • Participate in QC Planning & Activities
    • Effective use of Labsys , Command and Agg QC software
    • Perform lab trials for new mixes and products
    • Provide technical product expertise to sales, dispatch and operations


    Human Resources:

    • Participate in the development and implementation of site specific product performance knowledge for Operations staff


    Technical Support:

    • Participate in Quality Audits, including the development and implementation of Action Plans for Quality Improvement
    • Provide Expert Customer Support – Field Sales Support and Quality Incident Investigation and Resolution as required
    • Provide technical expertise to Operations regarding Mining Plan development and Execution, in order to maximize Reserve Life of Sites
    • Liaise with customers to ensure acceptable product performance, and acquire knowledge for potential innovation and product improvement
    • Promote Lafarge VAP and branded products to customers
    • Support product development, utilizing new and or innovative products.


    Financial Accountability

    • Ensure efficient utilization of resources provided, and optimize costs where practical and possible

    Relationships with Other Jobs:

    Liaison with Operational and Sales Staff

    • Communication of product performance and identification of improvement opportunities
    • Mining Plan Development and Implementation
    • Minimization/Utilization of Long Products
    • Root Cause Analysis and Reporting of Product Quality Incidents
    • Troubleshooting/Customer Service
    • Support yearly quality plan, to include material optimization targets, product development and long term product plans
    • Support utilization of Long and alternative Aggregate products in RMIX
    • Operational Batching Consistency
    • Moisture probe usage and Moisture Compensation
    • VAP product consulting


    Liaison with Regional and Market Area QA

    • Quality Safety Initiatives
    • New Product Innovation
    • Reserve Optimization
    • Development and Implementation of Quality Program
    • Support and Implementation of Quality Program Quality Safety Initiatives
    • Support and Implement Cement and Aggregate strategies for RMIX
    • Innovation Product Launches
    • VAP Mix Design, Implementation and Launch

    You must be a recent university or college graduate within the last 2 years OR you will be completing your degree/diploma May 2018.

    • University Degree in Engineering - eligibility for P.Eng. Designation
