Lafarge Leadership Development Program (LLDP)


The Lafarge Leadership Development Program offers qualified individuals an opportunity to work through developmental roles over a term of 18-24 months. The positions are designed to maximize your personal and professional learning and development. Each LLDP path is different, and custom designed for you!


Currently, we are looking for recent graduates who seek the challenge of a hands-on work environment that will provide industry knowledge and skills to drive your career path forward. We are looking for individuals who are interested in the areas of development, leadership and management of operational functions and performance throughout Eastern Canada.


To be considered for an LLDP role, qualified candidates must have a College/University degree, be willing to relocate within eastern Canada, be analytical, entrepreneurial and have highly developed communication skills. All of this must be coupled with a strong drive to gain business knowledge and a willingness to experience a variety of positions within the organization. 





Effective management of Technical Performance and Quality Processes to ensure product performance, product cost management and customer satisfaction. The successful incumbent will develop and maintain technical expertise & knowledge on products within the organization. In addition, the Technical Engineer in Training will provide ongoing regional support to assessment of raw mix, kiln feed, clinker, cement, etc in order to ensure that the product quality conform the internal quality objectives and all applicable CSA standards.




  • To serve as a role model in the areas of safety, environmental stewardship, leadership, teamwork, customer focus, and continuous improvement to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors.
  • Establish and Manage programs and accountabilities to ensure compliance of all products with relevant Codes, Standards, and Specifications
  • Prepare Statistical Analyses of Plant Operation Performance, and Lead Investigative Efforts to Identify Root Causes and Implement Corrective Actions
  • Establish, monitor, report and communicate KPI performance with key stakeholders as required – investigate variances from plan and establish corrective actions as required
  • Responsible for the generation and distribution of quality reports.
  • Responsible for some aspects of month end reporting such as KFUI calculation and tabulation of all quality statistics.
  • Support and develop cement utilization strategies in RMX.
  • Perform Quality Audits, Develop Action Plans for Quality Improvement and Monitor Progress of Implementation
  • Provide Expert Customer Support – Specification activities field Sales Support and Quality Incident Investigation and Resolution.
  • Support programs with field and regional lab to Benchmark Lafarge material performance vs. competitors to effectively market our products.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Reporting of Product Quality Incidents


Specific Accountabilities:

  • day to day activities of the lab – review daily lab forms and charts
  • troubleshoot the implementation of new procedures
  • generation of quality data report and records as required
  • maintenance of lab equipment and parts
  • lab inventory control
  • controls external and internal calibration, verification and troubleshooting of lab equipment
  • participation in the clinker microscopy program
  • adherence and implementation (when feasible) of Best Practices
  • Administration of lab schedules and lab corporate software


You must be a recent university or college graduate within the last 2 years OR you will be completing your degree/diploma May 2018.

  • University Degree in Engineering
  • Working towards P. Eng. License
  • 1-2 years of experience working in manufacturing or lab settings
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent people management skills; ability to develop effective internal and external relations
  • Disciplined and process-oriented
  • Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn and use new software
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Self-motivated
