LAFARGE CANADA INC., a leading manufacturer and supplier of quality products for the construction industry, has an immediate opportunity at our Saskatoon Cement Terminal for a Terminal Assistant in a seasonal capacity May to November.

Terminal Assistant Position




    • Actively participate in and operate within the terminal Safety Program in compliance with Lafarge Canada Inc’s safety and environmental policies
    • General labour related duties and cleanup
    • Operation and daily maintenance of rail unloading and bulk truck loading equipment
    • Unload bulk railcars and load bulk semi-trucks
    • Operate a forklift to load and unload packaged cement
    • When required, supervise and direct contractors on site
    • Supervision and direction of truck/railway carriers’ activities on site
    • Inventory control
    • Terminal Housekeeping
    • Other associated duties that the employee is trained for




  • Demonstrates commitment to safety for oneself and others
  • Mechanical aptitude a positive attribute
  • Time and self-management skills
  • Physically fit to encompass labor requirements of role
  • Demonstrate strong skills in problem solving, decision making and multi-tasking
  • Maintains composure to deal with difficult situations
  • Good verbal and written communication skills  
  • Computer literacy: including Excel, Word programs a benefit
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Understanding of building materials industry, including cement product knowledge an asset
