    Overview

    The Sales Coordinator / Gatekeeper will provide the first line of support to the sales team on system functions for the market area; systems include Salesforce.com and SAP. The incumbent will perform functional training on Salesforce.com as needed and when required. In addition, other key responsibilities include tracking quality of information being captured in Salesforce.com and SAP, report deviances and ensure corrective action is taken. Detailed review of approved sales quotations will be needed on a regular basis. This role will be a key piece of the sales team and participate in all phases of the sales process.

    Responsibilities

    Safety

    • Health and Safety: Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.  Ensures all aspects of his/her role are executed in a safe manner.  Obeys safety guidelines when on construction sites and Lafarge

     

    Sales Support

     

    • To provide the first line of support to the sales team on Salesforce.com, Front Line Systems and SAP
    • Researches municipal, associations, customer and other databases identifying potential job opportunities. Prepares project file with full documentation and submits to Sales Team for review.
    • Track project status, potential volumes, bidders, competitors, reporting on Backlog, bid success rates, closing price, bid market share, ect
    • Identify, gather and document information on competitor activity for market share shifts and Lafarge positioning. Assess competitor behaviors, strengths/weaknesses and periodically perform extensive competitor profiles.
    • Has expert knowledge in subject matter and ensures the transfer of this knowledge to the sales team (specifically on Backlog & Forward Order Book)
    • Reviews and submits approved quotations from Salesforce.com to SAP, as per the Price Policy.
    • Liaise with the Credit Department to ensure customer organizations are in Salesforce.com
    • Organize and maintain various information systems and databases (specifically Qlikview)

     

    Sales Results

    • Identify accounts through prospecting methods, and working with the Sales Team to better understand our market area, existing customers, and potential new accounts.
    • Respond to general inquiries, handle inbound/outbound calls, email requests, ect.
    • Assist the Sales Team on pricing, quoting, follow up, securing work, and understanding customer needs.
    • Contribute to managing COD’s and Small Customers on pricing, after sales-support, follow up, customer service inquiries, ect.
    • Be a key member of the sales team, achieving volume, revenue, and pricing targets.

     

    Functional Training

    • Responsible for training new sales team members on our procedures and systems, and for reviewing relevant materials during sales meetings.
    • Supports enhancement phases and new releases in Salesforce.com and ensures the sales team is adequately trained for the changes using the training material provided to him/her.

     

    Relationships with Others Jobs: 

    • Reports to RMX Commercial Manager
    • Works closely with entire sales organization
    • Works in conjunction with Credit, Quality Assurance & Customer Service Department to further overall Sales performance.
    • Work as a liaison between sales and the front end to coordinate sales system related functions.
    • Critical to maintain positive relationships with all managers, office personal, and plant employees to promote a positive work atmosphere

    Qualifications

    • Post-secondary education, under graduate degree in related field (Business, Engineering, Technology, ect) required
    • Knowledge of the construction industry is required
    • Strong customer focus and works effectively in a team
    • Ability to develop effective relationships internally and externally
    • Strong computer skills
