    The Seasonal Mac Lab QC primary objective is to support all of the QC duties and functions for the KIDD Creek Macintyre Site screening Operations.   Job responsibilities include but are not limited to, ensuring that all lab and QC duties are carried out and processed accurately and in a timely fashion through proactive data and information management.



    • Ensures all aspects of the role are executed in a safe manner by adhering to all safety guidelines.
    • Ensure Lafarge FLRA programs are in place and in compliance.



    Seasonal Macintyre tailings Site QC

    • The role of the Quality Control Technician at the tailings dam is to ensure that the product being screened fits within the specification of the mix design set forth by the Senior Paste Tech. Also to monitor water tables for any deviations and to ensure that the contractors on site, adhere to all health and safety policies
    • The specified range of deviation is 45 – 65 microns. This is monitored by means of the PSA by doing several tests throughout the day
    • Moistures are also taken and recorded
    • Slope indications are taken daily with the data recorder to track the water table fluctuations. This is done by taking piezometer readings out in the field
    • Clean and start the PSA machine, turn on the moisture analyzer turn on computer. Pre-trip the four wheeler
    • Attain the screening site and obtain two samples of “screened” tailings
    • Perform daily tests as well as moistures. If the tests are passing then they could be done at one hour intervals
    • Take the data recorder and go check the piezometers writing down results and then entering them in the computer back at the lab



    • Data collected from the piezometer readings are to be recorded into the “piezometer” folder. Moisture is recorded in the “moisture” folder
    • The PSA results are to be exported from the psa and copied to the PSA Exports folder
    • Daily general journal which is updated daily with general entries
    • All folders (Piezometer Moisture Journal and PSA exports) are sent to the KIDD creek Paste Plant Lab on a daily basis 


    Relationships with Others Jobs: 


    • Reports to the Lafarge Plant Manager
    • Works closely with site supervision and screener Operators

    • Must have a great working relationship with Plant Manager providing excellent customer service

    Education & Work Experience:


    •  Post-secondary degree/diploma
    • 3 years in a QC / Lab role Preferably in the mining field
