    Lafarge Leadership Development Program (LLDP)


    The Lafarge Leadership Development Program offers qualified individuals an opportunity to work through developmental roles over a term of 18-24 months. The positions are designed to maximize your personal and professional learning and development. Each LLDP path is different, and custom designed for you!


    Currently, we are looking for recent graduates who seek the challenge of a hands-on work environment that will provide industry knowledge and skills to drive your career path forward. We are looking for individuals who are interested in the areas of development, leadership and management of operational functions and performance throughout Eastern Canada.


    To be considered for an LLDP role, qualified candidates must have a College/University degree, be willing to relocate within eastern Canada, be analytical, entrepreneurial and have highly developed communication skills. All of this must be coupled with a strong drive to gain business knowledge and a willingness to experience a variety of positions within the organization. 



    The Sales & Operations Analyst (LLDP) is a support role to the Northern Ontario, Projects & Mobile Solutions Commercial Manager and wider regional team. Based out of our Markham Ontario office, this position will contribute working directly with management on various sales-related assignments and look for opportunities to improve sales effectiveness by actively performing various sales and operational duties.     The position requires a candidate who is organized with the ability to monitor and troubleshoot various priorities, assignments and duties simultaneously. By using various methods, tools, and systems, the incumbent will assist the market area by analyzing, researching and forecasting: sales, market size/growth, competitor activity, along with customer needs.


    The Sales & Operations Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring that best practices are implemented, utilized and supported. As well to ensure data & analysis is available to assist the sales team to effectively execute their sales responsibilities in a pro-active, informed and professional manner. 


    The role will require regular/intermittent travel, sometimes for extended periods, including to remote locations within Eastern Canada.




    Health & Safety

    • Administers, promotes and reviews safety policies, processes and procedures to maintain relevance while ensuring the site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines.


    Market Research & Analysis

    • Works closely with Plant Managers and site personnel to develop and improve analytical and technical skills for effective commercial and sales management
    • Assists in the development, motivation and training to promote customer focus, operational efficiency and skill development
    • Researches Municipal, Associations, customer and other databases identifying potential job opportunities. Prepares project file with full documentation and submits to Commercial Managers for review.
    • Liaise with Plant Managers to track project status, potential volumes, bidders, competitors, etc, reporting on backlog, bid success rates, closing price, bid market share, etc
    • Estimates total ready mix, aggregate and cement consumption within the market area; detailed by sub-market.
    • Estimates market growth and identifies trends affecting growth.
    • Monitors, identify, gather and document information on competitor activity for market share shifts and Lafarge positioning in market area. Assess competitor behaviors, strengths/weaknesses and periodically perform customer/competitor profiles.
    • Compiles various sales related reports for the market area



    • Champions regional COD (Cash on Delivery) tracking sheet
    • Works closely with Plant Managers & technical team to identify opportunities for VAP upselling
    • Periodic review of customer performance with plant managers (load size, prices, margins etc)
    • Assists & coordinates ‘Lunch and Learn’ opportunities with existing, and/or prospective customers
    • Assists Plant Managers in preparing, tracking & implementing customer action plans for the market area
    • Supports Plant Managers with quoting jobs (as required)
    • Annual list price updating & monitoring
    • Organize and maintain information systems and databases
    • Liaise between Plant Managers and front end to coordinate sales system related functions
    • Assist in exploring all potential revenue opportunities for the market area



    • As required, to batch concrete appropriately and to meet/exceed quality assurance levels, dispatch trucks based on customer needs, and support plants & Quality Control department with testing as needed.
    • When required, sets up day to day scheduling of concrete deliveries by taking customer orders and booking drivers accordingly
    • Gives prices to independent customers within set guidelines if plant manager is not available.
    • Represents the company and is the direct link between the customer and the concrete deliveries.
    • When required, orders raw materials for production. Ensures accurate batching of concrete to produce a quality product. Monitors plant maintenance requirements.


    Quality Control

    • Ensure compliance is met with regards to our QA/QC plan and that plant production is within quality specifications
    • Monitor raw materials to ensure it is within specification


    Community Relations

    • Identifies, develop and maintains effective relationships within the organization & greater community by participating in local activities, events and committees
    • Assist Plant Managers in proactively working with the local community and stakeholders to ensure that Lafarge is a valued member of the community. Activities include organization of open houses and participation with local schools and non-profit organizations, potentially participate in construction/housing shows/workshops


    Relationships with Others’ Jobs:

    • Interact, liaise and build relations with market area team, regional/corporate functional roles, senior management & LLDP peers


    You musy be a recent university or college graduate within the last 2 years OR you will be completing your degree/diploma May 2018.


    • Completed Degree in Business or Engineering - or graduating Spring 2018
    • Must be willing to be mobile and travel to our different sites
