    Overview

    The Health & Safety Analyst will provide effective departmental assistance across all aspects of the Country Health & Safety Management System (HSMS).  In this position, the incumbent will be responsible for various analytical and record keeping activities necessary for effective health & safety support to business units and product lines across Eastern Canada.  The incumbent’s responsibilities will include effective data record keeping and analysis, management of incident reporting databases, preparation of monthly reports and presentations, development of health & safety communications and training materials, and providing assistance to measure Health & Safety Improvement Plan (HSIP) execution.

     

    The incumbent serves as a primary resource the ECAN Health & Safety Department, while liaising and collaborating with other key stakeholders including field operations and corporate teams to support continual improvement of the HSMS.

    Responsibilities

    Data Collection, Reporting & Analysis

    • Manages and maintains all health & safety related record-keeping in accordance with LH Group policies and requirements
    • Acts as a System Administrator for all health & safety databases and reporting software
    • Collects, maintains, synthesizes and distributes all health & safety key performance indicator (KPI) data, including incidents and strategic H&S initiatives
    • Performs statistical analyses on health & safety-related data to support identification of risks, trends, priorities and actions
    • Prepares regular reports and presentations based on health & safety related data
    • Maintains accurate records of worker’s compensation data, statements and assessments

     

    Health & Safety Communications

    • Develops, manages and distributes strategic health & safety communications to relevant internal and external stakeholders
    • Assists with health & safety communication campaigns and information flows
    • Manages and maintains distribution lists for health & safety communications
    • Communicates regularly with Health & Safety Department personnel to ensure reports and actions are submitted in a timely manner
    • Acts as a focal point for exchanges between Group, Region, and Country regarding health & safety statistics
    • Acts as an information conduit for the ECAN Health & Safety Department and EXCO, Product Line and/or Units with respect to health & safety related matters

     

    Health & Safety Training

    • Assists in the development of health & safety training material, products and systems;
    • Assists in the coordination of health & safety training courses and schedules;
    • Assists in the management and retention of health & safety training records and certificates.

     

     

    Health & Safety Administration

    • Administers and coordinates health & safety related projects & systems
    • Coordinates all department conference calls and meetings
    • Updates the Director, Health & Safety and appropriate Group, Regional and Divisional Management of matters impacting their areas of responsibility
    • Other duties as assigned

    Relationships with Other Functions: 

    • Works closely with Health & Safety Director and HS Department personnel to support HSMS
    • Interfaces with other functional groups, as required

    Qualifications

    • Applicable College Diploma or University Degree in Business, Social Sciences or Engineering
    • Certificate in Health & Safety and/or two-years of work experience in Health & Safety an asset
    • Minimum 3-5 years of related experience
