    The Financial Analyst provides accurate financial reports, financial analysis, and decision support in a consistent and timely manner.  This position works to improve understanding of key business drivers and maximize results within the assigned product line/markets.  The Analyst works closely with and in support of the Finance Director.


    • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments
    • Perform standard and ad hoc analysis to support business decisions
    • Review month end results to ensure accuracy and completeness
    • Produce monthly product line reporting package including KPIs to help explain business results
    • Performs detailed month end financial analysis including balance sheet account reconciliations, account adjustments and analysis
    • Prepare capital assets and leases as required
    • Prepare summary reports for budgeting and monthly forecasting processes
    • Liaise with NABS staff for fixed assets, account set ups, GL attributes, allocation module etc
    • Participate in operational reviews of industrial, distribution and sales and marketing functions; and, enhancement to internal controls, accounting policies, and business processes
    • Consolidate product line audit queries




    • Enhance the safety culture of Lafarge
    • Provide financial activities support to the Finance Director and VPGMs
    • Acquire deep, wide and strong knowledge of the business
    • Analysis of financial results
    • Advanced and frequent usage of financial system tools
    • Compliant usage of common systems
    • Compliance with Service Level Agreements
    • Compliance with company policies and procedures
    • Consistency of accounting/statutory reporting and product line reporting
    • Effective linkage of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other financial performance analyses with financial reporting
    • Timely monthly management reporting
    • Effective flagging of business issues based on financial and trend analysis
    • Continuous improvement on operating and reporting efficiencies



    Relationships with Others’ Jobs:


    • Frequent interaction with PL Directors, Finance Managers and VPGMs
    • Interface with Finance Directors & Finance Managers in monthly review/reporting process
    • Interaction with the NA Business Services team
    • Lead efforts and analysis with other functions within the assigned product line
    • Peer relationships within and across regions with other Analysts


    Education and Work Experience:


    • Previous experience in manufacturing and/or construction
    • Professional designation or close to completion (CMA, CGA, CPA or CA)
    • 2-5 years professional experience required as analyst



     Knowledge and Skills:


    • Strong interpersonal skills - verbal and written
    • Highly motivated and ability to work independently
    • Advanced MS Excel skills for reporting and data analysis (pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs, charting etc) and strong PowerPoint skills for monthly reporting package

    • Solid GAAP knowledge
