    Provide housekeeping and cleanup support to the Calgary Terminal to fully meet our health and safety goals.  Maintaining a safe, clean environment which all employees will take pride in and to provide the satisfaction of a job well done.


    1. Obey and apply all Company health and safety rules in daily duties.
    2. Conduct field level risk assessment before starting any task.
    3. Ensure all equipment is properly and adequately locked out before starting any task.
    4. Clean up spills, leaks etc as directed by the terminal manager or designate (lead hand/s).
    5. Operate mobile housekeeping equipment such as sweeper or vacuum.
    6. Communicate effectively with terminal manager or designate to identify and actualize remediation plans to attack chronic housekeeping concerns.
    7. Provide relief as required for Terminal Operators (Light Equipment Operation and/or Shipping).
    8. Report all safety and environmental incidents in a timely manner.
    9. Inspect all equipment and tools prior to use and initiate work requests to resolve deficiencies.
    10. Carry out adjustments and minor repairs to equipment as needed.
    11. Perform other duties as required.
    12. View change as an essential element of our business.

    Qualifications for New Hire:

    • Successful completion of High School certificate.
    • Previous experience working in a heavy industrial environment desirable.
    • First aid certificate desirable.
    • Basic mechanical skills desirable.


    Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.


    Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


    Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.


    Physical Ability:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and touch or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up moderate to heavy objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, colour vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


    Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, and high precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
