    Overview

    As a member of the Mosport site team, the loader operator will execute the daily tasks of operating and maintaining the loader in accordance with Lafarge’s Best Practices and Policies as well as perform all administration related to the equipments operation.

    Responsibilities

    • Safety: Promote safety culture through engagement with employees, JHSC, subcontractors and suppliers, implementation and maintenance of local and regional initiatives with an objective of “zero” safety incidents. Promote safety policies, processes and review procedures to ensure that site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines. Ensure that plant and surrounding site is kept safe, presentable, and functional.
    • Shipping: Load highway trucks with the correct amount and type of material as per the driver or scale master. Ensure that material shipped is free of frozen lumps and contamination. Manage stockpiles safety with respect to frozen lumps and frozen stockpile faces.
    • Production: Load mobile screening plant to ensure daily production targets are met. Aid in repairs to mobile plant as necessary.
    • Environmental Management: Ensure that site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines.
    • Equipment: Ensure assigned equipment is operated and maintained to original equipment manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
    • Maintenance: Perform daily inspections as part of our preventative maintenance program. Maintain site orderliness by ensuring access and travel ways are clear and sufficiently bermed.
    • Snow Removal: Arrive earlier than usual shift time if snow removal and site maintenance is required. This would include but not limited to plowing snow from the main roads, plowing snow leading to the stockpiles, spreading sand along the main roads, and preparing the stockpiles for shipping.
    • Other: Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the plant and site.

     

    This position is for day shift (Approximately 5:45 am to 5:00 pm)

     

    Relationships with Others Jobs

    • Reports to the Plant Foreman
    • This position requires extensive liaison with the 3rd party trucks operators and Weigh master

     

    Specific Accountabilities:

    • Safety: Near Miss and HI process, MVA’s, FA’s, MI’s, LTI’s, Daily Safety Huddles, Risk Assessments.
    • Maintenance: daily and annual inspection process, Prioritize deficiencies as they occur.

    Qualifications

    Education & Work Experience:

    • Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent
    • Industrial plant operation experience an asset
    • Heavy equipment operation experience an asset

     

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Specific mobile equipment training
    • Specific Module surface miner training
    • 980 Operating Training Course (Toromont)
    • Mechanical aptitude
    • Computer literacy an asset
