    Overview

    This is a one year contract role.

     

    The Application Designer is responsible for the development and implementation of technical solutions in order to meet the business requirements for Financial and Accounting Management functionalities.  The Designer is responsible for Incident Management and the estimation of the level of effort (BEE - Base Effort Estimate) for the resulting change, converting business requirements into functional and/or technical design specifications, system configuration, and implementation and testing in accordance with the LafargeHolcim Shared Services Change Management Process. Additional responsibilities include creation of required documentation, post Go-Live support and knowledge transfer to support the handover of the daily operations of the implemented solutions to other team members of the Application Management team.

    Responsibilities

    Application Development Life Cycle and Operational Support

    • Design and implementation of technical solutions based on business requirements received for minor enhancements and projects approved by the respective Business Process Owners and the ECRB (Enterprise Change Review Board)
    • Responsible for estimating level of effort, converting business requirements into technical/functional design specifications and application development related to R2R systems.
    • Work closely with the Design Team to ensure the technical solution is aligned with the proposed design and architectural principles
    • Configuration, development and implementation of the solution based on the technical/functional design specifications
    • Document test cases and execute unit and integration testing of the build code/configuration
    • Actively participate in Support Pack Impact evaluation and its Testing
    • Supporting and coordinating the Month-End Close activities by addressing all technical issues
    • Actively participate in the extraction of Audit Data using ACL for various Audit requests – internal and external.
    • Support Business/Key Users in the User Acceptance Testing where required
    • Documentation and handover of the implemented solution to other Team members of the Application Management/Support Team
    • Work closely with Delivery Managers as subject matter experts to ensure all Changes are delivered on time, within budget and of the expected quality. Raise relevant concerns at the appropriate time with a view to ensuring delivery of the Changes with the appropriate solution.
    • Developing system application using various SAP Technologies

     

    Support IT Service Management and IT Quality Processes

    • Responsible for active support and adherence to IT Service Management procedures
    • Seek Constant Improvement
    • Continuously measure accuracy of estimates and target release dates in order to improve reliability of information provided to the IT Business Partners for level setting the Business Process Owners
    • Collaboration with Design Team to design and implement solutions to improve and optimize the R2R system and landscape.
    • Regularly communicate with the team to identify improvement opportunities and develop action plans addressing these areas

     

    Communicate ongoing efforts with the appropriate IT Management

     

    • Regularly update IT Business Partners and Change Manager on progress and targeted release dates of all enhancements and projects
    • Routinely quantify and qualify IT application systems quality and reliability
    • Communicate findings on a regular basis to the appropriate team lead or management
    • Obtain approval for architectural changes through Enterprise Architects

    • Ability to work in a collaborative environment with internal and external vendors, IT and business partners to ensure that the implemented technical/functional design specifications meets the business requirements
    • Demonstrate customer service attitude and orientation

    Other Related Experiences Required or Preferred:

    • Excellent Microsoft Office/Project skills desired
    • ITIL Service Management certification desired

    Qualifications

    Position Requirements (Experience and Technical Expertise):

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP FI CO
    • Extensive experience in the configuration of SAP ECC, specifically in Financial Accounting Management and Controlling, Account Payable and Receivable, Fixed Assets and Cost and Profit Centre Accounting. Knowledge of other modules a benefit
    • Experience with SAP Financial Consolidation (FC) and its integration with SAP backend to support data transfer operations and troubleshooting.
    • Experience with Vertex and it’s functionality and dependence in SAP
    • Experience with SAP RE-FX module preferred
    • Experience with SAP workflow technologies preferred
    • Knowledge of the ABAP programming language or similar desired
    • SAP Business Warehouse (BW) knowledge desired
    • Knowledge of Internet-based applications, SAP Portals knowledge or experience desired
    • Demonstrated understanding of IT Service Management concepts and procedures

    Additional Information

    • Knowledge of business process is crucial in the position
    • Knowledge of SAP Technical (ABAP, BW, Portal, PI, Workflow)
