    Overview

    The Scale/Fill Site Attendant is responsible for directing inbound trucks to satisfy customer commitments and for scaling/ticketing these trucks when they leave our site.  The Scale/Fill Site Attendant will ensure the front line field level adherence and enforcement of Lafarge safety policies; procedures and processes with all fill site haul trucks, drivers and operators.

     

    Working in a fast paced environment accuracy and detail oriented is a must. This individual must be an excellent team player and utilize their strong organization and communication skills to coordinate trucks, work with dispatch and ensure deliveries are “On-Time, In-Full, Hassle Free”. 

     

    The employee will be tasked with the day to day office duties, ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of all tasks assigned.

     

     

    This position could be located at any of the following sites: Abbotsford/Mission, Langley/Surrey, Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows or Coquitlam.

    Responsibilities

    Ticketing 

    • Scale trucks when required prior to loading for tare purposes
    • Scale trucks when loaded
      • Ensuring proper information is entered
        • Truck information
        • Customer/quote information
        • Product
        • Weights

    Dumpsite Tracking 

    • Entering dump tickets correctly
    • Track on fill tally sheet

    Cash Sales

    • Ensure all Cash Sales transactions are processed correctly and in a timely manner
    • Track on COD Reconciliation spreadsheet

    Office Duties 

    • Faxing of various tracking sheets to customers when required
    • Sort interoffice mail
    • Help with any other requests as required 

    Qualifications

    • Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office, SAP)
    • Knowledge of products and industry terminology
    • Strong safety mindset, good grasp of safe work procedures with regard to dump trucks, trailers and heavy mobile equipment
    • Matured professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Remain calm and composed when under pressure. Strong ability to independently handle confrontational situations yet able to achieve positive outcome
    • High level of compliance and integrity
    • Self-motivated, good organization and planning skills
    • Good time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
    • Understanding of basic logistical flow of haul trucks as they travel through our sites and at dump pads 

    Education and Work Experience:

    • Grade 12 diploma. A post-secondary diploma in Health, Safety, Technology or Engineering is strongly preferred
    • Flagging Training and Traffic Control Certification with associated work experience is considered an asset
    • 3-5 years’ experience working with or around heavy mobile equipment and dump trucks is considered an asset
    • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
    • Level 1 First Aid Certification is preferred
