    The Receptionist is a professional and friendly person acting as an ambassador for the Greater Calgary Area office of Lafarge Western Canada by presenting a positive and helpful attitude.  The Receptionist is primarily responsible for being the first point of contact to welcome visitors to our office, greeting and assisting employees and effectively answering a high-volume of incoming calls and appropriately routing them. 


    • Welcome and greet office guests and employees at main reception
    • Answer high-volume main phone line and route to appropriate team members
    • Present a positive and professional image of the organization to all visitors and callers
    • Enforce safety culture by conducting safety orientations to visitors ensuring emergency procedures and emergency exits are clearly pointed out
    • Maintain visitor orientation tracking system
    • Prompt distribution and preparation of incoming and outgoing mail and couriers
    • Maintain daily upkeep/cleanliness of all common areas; reception, meeting rooms, copy areas, supply/storage room, lunchroom and kitchenettes
    • Ensure all machines in common areas are functioning and arrange services as required (coffee machines, photocopiers, check-in system, etc)
    • Assist in meeting logistics (calendar bookings, catering, registration, check-in, room set up/clean up)
    • Manage office supply inventory (tracking and ordering)
    • Management and distribution of market phone list
    • Liaise with building maintenance and external vendors providing office services
    • Other office duties as assigned



    • Post-Secondary education in Business Administration an asset


    Required Skills:

    • 2 years of reception/administrative experience
    • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, positive attitude
    • Effective communication skills; both verbal and written
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Self-motivated, strong work ethic and ability to take initiative
    • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast paced environment
    • High attention to detail
    • Experience in MS Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint


    Pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol testing and a criminal record check may be required.
