    Overview

    A key member of plant staff/leadership team whose responsibilities include helping determine improvement opportunities and setting achievable goals for the site while simultaneously leading efforts toward these goals and improvements on a department level. Contribute to reach maximum long term availability / reliability of the equipment and installations in the plant by implementing the appropriate preventive maintenance / condition monitoring / predictive strategies and actions at the lowest optimum cost and in compliance with the Health & Safety regulations.

    Responsibilities

    • Visible leader and unwavering support for Lafarge’s safety, health and safety policies.
    • Establish safety culture and tackle specific actions to ensure health and safety prevention during maintenance activities.
    • Develop and motivate its team, ensuring competencies and skills development according to technical innovations, plant or personal needs. Train and coach the maintenance team on preventive maintenance and maintenance best practices.
    • Responsible for the coordinated approach to preparing all employees within process area to safely operate and maintain a large cement plant.
    • Provides leadership for all phases cement plant, including organization design, hiring, training, drawing reviews, system development, and optimization of the plant.
    • Accountable for management and overall results within process area based on defined KPI’s. This includes development of area budgets, capital requirements, major maintenance projects and implantation plans.
    • Plan preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities and develop maintenance routines, contribute to plan annual shutdown programs.
    • Responsible for Total Lubrication Management and lubrication preventive maintenance routines development and execution
    • Condition monitoring inspections: walk by inspections (WBI), lubrication analysis, vibration analysis, non-destructive testing (NDT), thermography analysis, wear measurements, electric motor diagnostic, gear measurements, other specific condition monitoring measurements
    • Control lubrication and condition monitoring tasks of equipment and installations to identify needs of maintenance actions and reduce risks of unplanned downtime.
    • Create, plan, organize and execute short and long range objectives to ensure continued departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Support the Maintenance Manager in the elaboration and control of the maintenance budget, ensuring planning and follow-up of costs. Lead planning for all foreseeable operations (weekly, master, shutdown).
    • Responsible for day-to-day execution and accountability of the department area’s function.
    • Benchmarks and challenges the department to achieve continuous improvement in all areas.
    • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction for the department area(s) in a manner consistent with our values, and ensure alignment with plant and company goals.
    • Use systems such as MAC, SAP, PMA, CBM, RCA, FMEA, etc., to optimize overall equipment effectiveness at the lowest sustainable cost of maintenance.
    • Support, demonstrate and facilitate the concepts of development and involvement of employees, continuous learning and continuous improvement in a values based high performance organization.
    • Accountable for providing leadership, development and coaching on individual performance to direct reports to achieve business results.
    • Establish preventive maintenance plans in cooperation with Production Manager, Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Heads/Coordinator and Capex department
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:  Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree

    Additional Education Preferred: Master's/Graduate Degree

    Field of Study Preferred:  Engineering, specifically Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering.

      

    Required Work Experience:   5-10 years of combined management level and cement industry experience in a site leadership role.

     

    Travel Requirements:  Occasionally

     

    Additional Requirements: Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and communication (verbal and written) skills are required.  Knowledge of maintenance planning with the ability to create and implement maintenance and process systems.
