    Reporting to the Asphalt Manager, GVA, the Sales Representative is responsible for the promotion and sales of Lafarge Asphalt products within the GVA market by maintaining and growing the customer base. The Sales Representative is responsible for the sourcing, maintenance and growth of the customer base by the effective promotion and sales of Lafarge Asphalt products, solutions and value added products in the Greater Vancouver Area. The Sales Representative must also work closely with internal crews, Manufacturing, Finance, Credit, and other teams to drive the implementation of the Company's One Lafarge strategy.


    The Asphalt Superintendent contributes to organizational excellence by continually promoting a culture of agility, collaboration and empowerment (ACE) enabling continuous improvement.


    Health and Safety

    • Promotes a positive safety culture through leadership by example; performs all work activities following all relevant safety policies and procedures.

    Customer Focus

    • Drives revenue through increased sales and solution selling to optimize opportunities to maintain and grow customer base.
    • Maintains a strong grasp of all competitors’ actions, prices and strategy. Proactively recommends and implements actions to maintain Lafarge’s position in the market.
    • Efficiently and accurately produce quotes and proposals for projects of all sizes and building segments using
    • Ensures that relationships are solid through spending >50% of time directly with client site superintendents, project managers and subcontractors, on site and at meetings.
    • Provide direction and assistance in the coordination of deliveries to all projects large and small.
    • Work with customers to resolve problems either internal or external.
    • Ensures completion of monthly sales and revenue forecasts.
    • Participates with Plant order desk personnel to promote customer service and One Lafarge.
    • Attends and proactively participates in daily and weekly sales meetings.
    • Develop action plans and establish objectives and goals to meet the divisional targets
    • Participates in local associations and partnerships to maintain and increase Lafarge presence in local area and to build sales.
    • Responsible for following processes and monitoring results (including using Qlikview) in order to meet all financial targets, including budgets, forecasts and profitability levels.
    • Ensures that processes and practices are followed to meet monthly accounts receivable targets.
    • Relationships: Working relationships with owners, engineers, consultants and the public. Internally works with all departments which are directly or indirectly involved with the plant.
    • Plants are located in Richmond, Langley & Abbottsford.

    • Interfaces closely with sales, operations management, dispatch and product line technical specialists.
    • Works closely with functional teams, i.e. H&S, Environment & PR, HR, LR, IT.
    • Directly reports to Asphalt Manager, GVA Asphalt



    • Bachelors Degree in Business or related field, Diploma, or an acceptable combination of education and work experience


    Work Experience and Skills:

    • Prefer minimum of five years construction industry experience
    • Minimum of three years Asphalt experience preferred
    • Customer service experience preferred
    • High level of computer literacy, including ERP (SAP system preferred), Qlikview and Salesforce
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Highly motivated, able to quickly build and maintain positive working relationships
    • Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
