    Overview

    This role has been designed to be a key role within the commercial performance team. The primary objective of this role is to provide critical sales & marketing support and analysis for decision making purposes. The Sales Coordinator/Analyst utilizes the best practice frameworks, processes, and ad-hoc analysis to synthesize data and works closely with the commercial performance, sales and logistic, and finance teams to provide clear conclusions and recommendations.

     

    The Sales Coordinator/Analyst is the super user and owner for sales reporting/forecast systems (Qlikview, iPLAN, Sales Force etc.) validating, tracking and forecasting for the WCAN cement business. He/she is able to effectively estimate cement demand in certain markets and sub-markets, estimate market growth and identify trends based on key indicators/drivers.

    Responsibilities

    • Customer Focus: Coordinate customer promotions/ presentations, organize customer events. Participates in customer feedback processes (Customer Portal usage, Customer Survey etc.).  Develop a solid understanding of Prairies customer base, assist MMM/TSMs to maintain current customer database (potential and existing in Salesforce.com), segments customers properly in SAP, and identifies customer needs.
    • Support the Prairies sales team in account receivable management.
    • Coordinate budget and forecast process: Lead/assist on annual budget and monthly forecast process, including volume and price validation working with MMMs/TSMs.
    • Participate in sales force effectiveness process and help MMMs/TSMs to prepare account plans, commercial plans in sales force.
    • Support MMM/TSMs to maintain current detailed database of annual market size and composition (ie. detailed competitor volumes, fixed plant volumes and supply).
    • Growth: Assist in analysis of growth opportunities in new and existing markets. Analysis includes estimation of market attractiveness (i.e. market size & growth, market indicators, market shares, and assessment of barriers to entry) and relative player position.
    • Systems: Effectively utilizes internal best practice systems (i.e. SAP, Misale, BW, iPLAN and Qlikview Business Intelligence). Owner of Qlikview, Salesforce and iPLAN systems for Prairies to ensure effective and accurate sales reports are available to the market area sales teams. 
    • Assist MMM/TSMs with quote process to make sure the prices are consistently and correctly across all markets – systematic pricing, walk away pricing, verify prices in Misale and SAP/BW.
    • Ad-hoc analysis and presentations where required and relevant.
    • Analysis/Reporting:
      • Support the DSM with the Monthly District Sales Letter (sales performance including volume, pricing, market share, and margin etc.)
      • Create effective sales & marketing reports for regular distribution.
      • Generate price audit report; help to verify the new prices, price changes made by the sales managers, increase internal control transparency on customer prices for the DSM and VP of Sales & Logistic.
      • Understand Cement Pure Price Indicator (PPI) methodology and help to prepare SFE/GPI updates upon request.
      • Monthly market share report.                                                                                                                                                                           
      • Assist in analysis of sales and/or operational opportunities to improve result.
      • Generate the top customer reports for sales districts, by product and targeted segments including sales volume and price performance monthly.
      • Responsible for reporting sales volumes to the Cement Association of Canada (CAC) for the purpose of CAC dues payment.

     Relationships with Others Jobs:

    • Support Major Market Managers (MMM), Territory Sales Managers (TSM), and technical team.
    • Customer Value Center personnel, especially the After Sales Support Representatives team
    • Work with finance manager to make sure rebate payments are accurate.
    • Provide support to the DSM and VP of Sales & Logistic in compiling analysis and presentations regarding the Cement product line business up on request.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Take ownership of Sales Coordinator responsibilities, quick learner and wish to learn
    • Strong problem solving, logical thinking, and analytical skills.
    • Strong computer skills (i.e. excel, power-point, mapping software).
    • Excellent Organization skills/attention to detail.
    • Good interpersonal skills/ works effectively in teams.

    Education and Work Experience:

    • Bachelor degree in Commerce, Engineering, Economics, or Mathematics.
    • Relevant work experience.
    • Courses in marketing, finance, sales, product applications, and database management as required.
