    Overview

    The Operations Analyst is the “Business Partner” on the Aggregates Product Line.  The role is responsible for coordinating and preparing accurate monthly reports, forecasts, progress performance plans, budgets, capital and other financial information.  This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and works to improve understanding of key business drivers and maximize results within the product line. 

    Responsibilities

    • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments
    • Manage accounting and reporting functions of operations including preparation of management reports
    • Interpret events and activities from a financial perspective
    • Maintain proper financial and accounting controls
    • Work closely with the business to prepare annual budgeting and forecasting activities
    • Interact and collaborate with operations.
    • Build or review strategic and business plans (MTP)
    • Analyze and provide recommendations
    • Participate in the annual progress performance plan
    • Oversee adherence to company policies
    • Work in concert with the finance team in GEA to drive standardization of activities across the product lines
    • Liaise with Service Centers to ensure collaborative achievement of Finance objectives
    • Change agent for process and system improvements
    • Manage the inventory at several sites through monthly balance review and reconciliation of survey results to physical
    • Reconciliation of asset and liability accounts for both plants to audit all transactions and ensure all balances are accurately stated in the Corporation’s balance sheet.
    • Ad hoc requests as needed

    Relationships with Others Jobs: 

     

    • Reports to the General Manager.
    • Works directly with key stakeholders (eg. Finance Director, Finance Manager, and Line Management.)
    • Works closely with other functional teams (eg. Quality, Logistics, Procurement, Finance, Admin.)

    Qualifications

    Education & Work Experience:

    • Undergraduate degree in Finance,Accounting or Business
    • 5+ yearsof financial management experience with increasing responsibility and complex roles
    • Professional accounting designation required (CMA, CGA, CPA or CA)
    • Operational and Shared Services Finance experience, preferred
    • Key user SAP experience, an asset
    • LHARP knowledge, an asset

    Technical/Functional Skills:

    • Demonstrated financial/business analysis/cost control skills
    • Detailed knowledge of Lafarge plant operations an asset
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
    • Strong ability to influence with and without authority
    • SAP/ERP BI skills
    • GAAP knowledge
    • Understanding of shared services model for finance
    • LHARP knowledge, an asset
