    Overview

    The Production Analyst plays a key role in ensuring uninterrupted supply of product and assists in all aspects of Aggregate site operations. Responsible for ensuring that all production, quality, and safety goals are met. Reviews Aggregate production schedules, and monitors production along with raw materials inventories to ensure customer requirements are met.

    Responsibilities

    • Safety Culture:  Promotes safety culture through engagement with employees, JHSC and subcontractors   with an objective of “zero” safety incidents. Administer, promote and review safety policies, processes and procedures to maintain relevance while ensuring the site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines. Has ownership of the implementation and management of all local and regional safety initiatives, providing feedback as necessary.
    • Operations: Assist the Area Management in planning, coordinating and supervising production activities.  Verify production by product. Assist in the establishment and monitoring of mine plans. Maintain accurate cost and inventory control. Validate and match physical inventories. Calculate and analyze all productivity and material data. Control and update production entries in SAP (plant and production reports) for the sites on a daily basis. Maintain the sales and production balance tool.
    • Consumption Tracking:  Ensures systems are in place to effectively and accurately monitor key consumption variable such as energy and fuel.  Analyses results to identify opportunities and concerns.  Provides consistent and effective reports for operations management.
    • Capital InvestmentAssist in the development and supervision of capital investment projects. Coordinate and supervise contractors including drilling, blasting, excavation, portable crushing and contract crushing.
    • Customer Focus:  Support monthly inventory reconciliation to ensure adequate inventories levels to meet demand and assist the logistics, shipping and quality departments to drive loading and product performance. 

    Relationships with Others Functions:

     

    • Reports to the Operations Manager
    • Works closely with Operations, Sales and Logistics team
    • Works closely with Area Finance to ensure costs are budgeted, forecasted accurately
    • Works closely with other Plant Staff, Maintenance, Distribution, Quality,  and Area Safety Staff 

    Specific Accountabilities:

    • Promotes  safety culture
    • Ensure daily production and inventory data is up to date in all reports and systems
    • Support operational functions and performance for the area
    • Provide key operational data and analysis
    • Consolidate operational cost for budget, variance analysis, and forecast
    • Ensure best practices are implemented, utilized and supported
    • Assist with Capital planning and status reporting
    • Assist sites in ensuring compliance with Lafarge and regulatory guidelines
    • Effective relationships within the community

    Qualifications

    Education/Work Experience:

    • Post-secondary Degree in Engineering or Business or Certified Engineering Technologist or the equivalent of education and experience.

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Excellent organizational and planning skills, process-oriented
    • Strong analytical skills, research, problem solving and decision making
    • Proficiency with various computer applications is a definite asset (Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, SAP)
    • Good written and verbal communications
    • Good time management, self-directed, uses time wisely, can attend to a broad range of activities
