    As a member of the Timmins Kidd Creek team, the Plant Operator will be engaged in all aspects of a plant operations. The primary function of this role will be to perform the responsibilities of a paste and concrete batcher. This position will also assume varying responsibilities such as the ability to operate a Front End Loader and perform simple QC tasks.


    The Paste and Concrete Operator Responsibilities include:

    • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. Responsible for ensuring safety guidelines are followed by employees on a daily basis. Correct safety issues immediately when possible, and offer employees coaching on safe work practices. Ensures all aspects of his/her role are executed in a safe manner. 
    • Ensure maximum productivity, minimum downtime and that the plant, property and production machinery are adequately maintained.
    • Maintain a safe workplace and ensure compliance of the Lafarge Health & Safety Policy
    • Develop and maintain good relationships with employees
    • Troubleshooting problems at plants and preventative maintenance to avoid breakdowns.
    • Review and analyze cost information (gas, power consumption, labor) to maximize plant efficiency
    • Responsible for batching paste and concrete to top quality assurance levels, and to support the Quality Control department with testing as needed.
    • Comply with Safety & Environmental Policy
    • Order raw materials and inventory management
    • Plant daily preventative & corrective maintenance, and housekeeping



    The Loader Operator Responsibilities include:

    • Promote safety culture through:
      • Engagement with employees, subcontractors and suppliers.
      • Implementation and maintenance of local and regional safety initiatives with an objective of “zero” safety incidents.
      • Administer and promote safety policies, processes and review procedures to ensure that site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines.
    • Ensure that plant and surrounding site is kept safe, presentable, and functional.
    • Ensure assigned equipment is operated and maintained to original equipment manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
    • Perform daily inspections as part of our preventative maintenance program to ensure maintenance is scheduled and completed as required.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the Timmins Kidd Creek, Paste and Ready Mix Plant and the site.

    • Post-secondary degree/diploma
    • 3-5 years experience in the paste and concrete industry will considered an asset.
