    Overview

    Overview:

     

    Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development Canada, the Head of National Key Accounts is responsible for managing and creating value for National Accounts C-Suite level that will cascade down both internally and externally. The incumbent will ensure strong relationships, improved opportunities, higher potential to reach objectives at both the National and local level.

     

     Position Summary:

     

    The Head of National Key Accounts collaborates with C-suites both nationally and locally with customers and to align strategic pursuits of customers and projects to facilitate growth and attain objectives of both Eastern Canada and Western Canada.  In addition, the incumbent will act as a liaison to facilitate more advantageous relationships and opportunities with a strategic customer base and provide a more in depth understanding of the customer’s future growth plans.  

    Responsibilities

    • Promotes a positive safety culture both internally and externally through leadership by example; performs all work activities following all relevant safety policies and procedures
    • Determine National accounts strategic plan
    • Develop and maintain relations with C-suites of National accounts
    • Determine and leverage National accounts outlook on strategy for 1, 3 and 5 year plans
    • Point of contact for a top down approach
    • Understanding and develop the stakeholder customer mapping
    • Understanding the customer project list, decipher what is of highest value to customer and Lafarge
    • Lead negotiations and coordinate a common solution, to bring reciprocal value to customer and Lafarge
    • Develop a more well-rounded approach to implement into our National Accounts for alignment, innovation and overall improved constructability that will be mutually beneficial
    • Strengthen the consistency and approach for One Lafarge Projects pursuits
    • Share information with executive committees both nationally and locally, to assist with the development of market intelligence
    • Share experiences for growth of knowledge within Lafarge, provide assistance for markets decisions
    • Develop share of wallet strategy for National Accounts
    • Develop and leverage relationship between National Accounts and Strategic Accounts (Developers/Owners)
    • Develop a list of Strategic Accounts, owners and developers that cover multiple major markets and provinces
    • Understand development plans for key Strategic Accounts
    • Understand and develop the stakeholder mapping Strategic Accounts
    • Build relationship with key stakeholders at Strategic Accounts

    Results / Accountabilities:

    • Improved and strengthen communications with National Accounts
    • Increased opportunities by understanding the pipeline of National Accounts
    • Manages change through influence on accounts
    • Improve market intelligence in WCAN and ECAN

    Dimensions / Relationships with Others’ Jobs:

    • Financial Annual Sales: estimated $500M in revenue
    • Work closely and report to Vice President – Business Development
    • Work closely with Business Development Manager and direct initiatives for National Accounts
    • Manage Steering Committees with Exco in WCAN and ECAN
    • Works closely with General Management and Commercial Management team nationally
    • Work closely with the Business Development Group, specifically Strategy and Business Intelligence teams

    Qualifications

    Education and Work Experience:

    • MBA or other relevant post secondary education
    • Minimum 10 years experience in account/client management, business development or construction industry
    • Previous experience developing and implementing strategic accounts plans
    • Demonstrated strong application user skills for MS Office Suite of products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint at high level
    • Bilingual considered a strong asset
