    The Plant Clerk is responsible for the daily administration duties for their specific area. The incumbent will ensure floor level adherence to Regulatory controls and guidelines, production & cost administration and worker/contractor safety through compliance with Lafarge and Provincial Safety legislation, policies and procedures.



    • Safety Culture: Promote safety culture through engagement with employees, implementation and maintenance of local and regional initiatives with an objective of “zero” safety incidents. Develop, administer and promote safety policies, processes and review procedures to ensure that site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines. Maintain safety database and attend JHSC meetings.
    • Human Resources: Assist with shift scheduling. Payroll administration for unionized  Provide assistance to employees, looking for HR information regarding Pensions & Benefits, Liaison between Employee and Employee Services. Prepare offer letters, safety orientation and schedule Post Offer of Employment Testing (POET) for new hires.
    • Production Management: Fuel reconciliation, P2P Receiving, Work Order Creation, O. Creation, Production Tracking, Reporting and Scheduling,  Transfers and Disposal of Equipment, Maintain records/billing for associated Royalties
    • Financial Management: P card entry and maintenance; monthly EBIT Variance Reporting; Maintenance Cost Tracker Updates.
    • Customer Focus: Phones and reception for production office; direct communication with Contractors and Suppliers.
    • Community Relations: Assist with Community relations, support effective relationships within the community by participating in local activities/events and through partnerships with local associations and the business community.
    • Office Admin: Courier packaging and sorting, Mail sorting, Supply orders for office & kitchen, Coordinate and plan Employee Office Events.



    Relationships with Others Functions: 

    • Reports to Plant Manager
    • Works closely with local Foreman, other Central Plant/Production Managers and Clerks


    Specific Accountabilities:


    • Safety: Near Miss process, MVA’s, FA’s, MI’s, LTI’s, Safety Huddle Participation
    • Production: Fuel reconciliation
    • Customer Focus: Phones and reception for production office
    • Financial: P Card entries, Daily Receiving. P.O. generation




    • $7.0M EBIT
    • 2 MT of Aggregate production & sales

    Safety Profile:

    • Surface Miner
    • WHMIS


    Education/Work Experience:

    • Grade 12 Diploma
    • A minimum of two years experience working in a similar environment
    • SAP experience required
    • Payroll Administration experience required
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) required


    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Vendor Management and Invoicing Administration experience an asset
    • Excellent organization and planning skills
    • Proficiency with various computer applications is a definite asset
    • Good written and verbal communications
    • Good time management, self directed, uses time wisely, can attend to a broad range of activities
